Autumnal Adventures

I realize it is a little late in the season to be putting up a post like this. Although it is technically still Fall, sub-zero windchills and whitewash of snow don't really scream, "It's Fall!" Let this post, then, be a memory of Minneapolis in the Fall, rather than a commentary on current events; it's an ode to the beauty of the city in the most colorful season of the year. Winter will be with us long enough, there is no need to celebrate it earlier than necessary.

So, without further ado, I present Autumnal Adventures: Minneapolis in the Fall.

The "Mall" at the University of Minnesota. The oaks were more vibrant this year and their colors lasted far longer than I remember happening before.

The day I went out, red was by far the dominent color. Yellows and oranges had already had their fun.

So when I said "Minneapolis," I really meant about three blocks along the river, but we get the sense nonetheless. It really was an unusual Fall here though. Notice in the last picture how the trees in the background are still green while other trees are completely void of leaves. The grass is still rich and green and the temperatures were still in the sixties here. Probably one of the longest Falls for several years at least, but it just isn't the same without that "crisp" quality we all love so much.

  2. Such beautiful photographs. Incidentally, I'm very jealous of your winters. We don't really get much of one.
